WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC defender Rob Cornwall has signed with Bohemians in his native Ireland after spending two seasons with the club.
Cornwall was Hailstorm’s first-ever captain and kept the armband throughout his time at the club.
“Rob was our first ever signing,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said. “A historic signing which will go down into the history books of Hailstorm. He was a colossal player on and off the pitch for us.”
Cornwall played in 54 matches in his two seasons in Northern Colorado. The highlight of his Hailstorm career came when he scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Real Salt Lake in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in 2022.
He will now return to Bohemians where he spent five seasons before joining Hailstorm.
“I will be forever grateful to Rob,” Zayed said. “He helped me immensely during my transition into head coaching. He’s given Hailstorm two fantastic years, and for that, I wish nothing but the best for him as he heads home to Ireland.”
