WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC announce that defender Johnny Fenwick has been signed for 2024, pending League and Federation approval.
Fenwick, a native of Newcastle, England, comes to Hailstorm from Sacramento Republic FC in the USL Championship. He also has experience with Championship clubs San Antonio FC, Las Vegas Lights FC, and FC Tulsa.
“I decided to join Hailstorm for a number of reasons,” Fenwick said. “But mainly I loved the fact that this team has a real desire to win and compete with the best.”
Fenwick captained Las Vegas Lights FC during the 2020 season and helped Tulsa earn a playoff berth in 2021. In total he has made 67 USL Championship appearances in five seasons.
“The first thing that stood out to me with Johnny was his leadership qualities,” Hailstorm FC head coach Éamon Zayed said.
He will now bring that leadership and experience to Hailstorm and USL League One in 2024.
“With the quality we have I don’t see why we can’t go all the way and win a championship. I can’t wait to start pre season and give my all for the club,” Fenwick said.
