WINDSOR, Colo. — Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC announce that forward Brahima Ouattara has been signed for 2024, pending League and Federation approval.
Ouattara, an Ivory Coast youth international at both under-20 and under-23 levels, comes to Hailstorm from FK Auda in the Virsliga in Latvia. He is the second African to join Hailstorm from the Latvian top flight, following defender Lucky Opara.
“I think he’s going to be really exciting,” Hailstorm head coach Eamon Zayed said. “In USL League One, I expect him to tear it up.”
Just 21 years old, Ouattara already has more than 100 professional appearances in Latvia, Switzerland, and his native Ivory Coast. Most of his appearances have come for Ivorian club RC Abidjan and Swiss side Lausanne-Sport. He has 30 club goals as a professional and has scored twice for the Ivory Coast under-20s.
Ouattara will now look to get more goals and help Hailstorm in their push toward USL League One silverware.
“As a fan, I’d be really excited to see him play,” Zayed said.
