WINDSOR, Colo. — Following their elimination from the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup at FC Tulsa on Wednesday, Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC will continue their week-long road trip with a USL League One match at Chattanooga Red Wolves SC on Monday.
Hailstorm are still looking for their first win in league play this season, but are unbeaten in their last five matches against Chattanooga. The teams last played in the 2023 regular season finale, with Hailstorm taking a 3-1 win with goals from Marky Hernández, Bruno Rendon, and Irvin Parra.
“I’m looking for a response from the guys after a loss. It’s another road game, which is difficult, but I’m looking for a response,” Hailstorm head coach Éamon Zayed said.
After postponing a pair of matches because of concerns with the field at CHI Memorial Stadium, Chattanooga have played just twice in the league this season, with a win over Central Valley Fuego FC and a loss to Lexington SC.
Both teams lost in the Open Cup on Wednesday, with Chattanooga losing to Birmingham Legion, 4-2 after extra time, and Hailstorm dropping a 2-1 result at FC Tulsa.
“We just have to switch our focus to Chattanooga and move on,” Hailstorm midfielder Chelo Martinez said after the loss in Tulsa.
The match in Chattanooga kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Mountain time on Saturday and can be streamed live on the CBS Sports Golazo Network.
